From the whistle it was going to be a hot, long, hard day in the Pro 1/2/3 race. With some of the nations fastest sprinters amongst the peloton and group of strong guys, this Ontario would have to be fought hard. 75 minutes in the pain cave isn’t how most would ideally spend their Sunday, but that’s what we love to do. So we did- attack after attack- the race was off to a fast fun start. In the race […]
This weekend at the Orange County Cycling Classic Omnium the SoCalCycling.com Team came out in top form. On Day 1, after a couple hard laps on the 2.7 mile course and the usual chaos of counterattack after counterattack a break was soon established. I found myself and trusty beast of a teammate Lucas Binder in a selection of riders with two KHS riders and Shawn Wayland of Serious Cycling. There was an apparent dissatisfaction with the mix of that group of seven, […]
For the first time this season I got to travel south for a race instead of north to LA, for the Adrenaline SoCal Circuit Race in Chula Vista. After completing a 6-day stage race the week before in Mexico with lots of heat, climbing, and u-turns, I was feeling well prepared for this tough circuit race course. A good sized group showed up to contest the Men’s Pro 1/2 race, with racers from across the border as well as the […]

From laying down serious watts to railing a hard corner, these wheels do it all. The depth allows for aerodynamic efficiency while not carrying too much extra weight. As a great all-rounder, these wheels can be used in mountainous terrain to climb and descend. Another aspect to the C50 is that they hold up to extreme stresses such […]
Last year I was riding the fi’zi:k Arione saddle during the race season. I found it to be fairly heavy and not as comfortable, so this year I was hesitant when I was given the fi’zi:k Antares R1 Braided saddle to race on. Half way through the season and some 3,200 miles later, I have been very happy with the saddle and my pessimistic expectations have been proven wrong. Weight I am fortunate to have the carbon rails and carbon shell […]
It has been a while since I have been able to partake in true team tactics in a bike race. This past Sunday at the Ladera Ranch Grand Prix, I was able to join the SoCalCycling.com Elite Team in my debut weekend as a Cat 1. After pulling an all-nighter getting my new Cannondale SuperSix EVO dialed in with dedicated Race Director Frank Sarate we were ready to take it to the street team and make some magic happen on […]
